[ WM ] What is your main stage and songwriting guitar and / or keyboard you use ?
[ WM ] For In-Ear Monitors what brand are you using ?
[ Jonathan McReynolds ] I ’ ve loved Martin ’ s for a long time . I ’ ve had three or four in my lifetime and it was an honor for me to build a friendship with them , so now I work with a Martin SC13-E Special at home and on the road . While I have a big 88-key Montage in my studio , for songwriting I tend to use the Nord Electro 5-D in my living room . Even though it ’ s only semi-weighted , Nord ’ s piano sounds make up for it .

[ Jonathan ] Ever since Kyser gave me a capo with my name on it , I ’ ve stayed pretty loyal .
[ Jonathan ] Well , I ’ m excited to start a partnership off with Empire . They have in-ears with bone conduction which works well when I ’ m singing in my head-voice .
[ WM ] What do you use to capture song ideas down with ?
[ Jonathan ] I ’ m simple , and just use the Voice Memo app in my iPhone .
[ WM ] What brand / model vocal microphone do you use on stage ? In your home studio ?
[ WM ] What acoustic guitar strings do you prefer ?
[ WM ] What is a current Worship record you enjoy listening to right now ?
[ Jonathan ] In the studio , it ’ s the Neumann U87 Ai Set Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone . When I need to do something quick , it ’ s a Neumann TLM .
[ WM ] For your acoustic guitar , what pick-up system do you use ?
[ Jonathan ] My Martin comes standard with a LR Baggs Element pick-up system , and I ’ ve had no issues .
[ WM ] What brand capo do you use ?
[ Jonathan ] I have always loved D-Addario acoustic size 11 strings . They last longer and give me the right amount of brightness .
[ WM ] Are you using a clip-on tuner ? A floor pedal tuner ? Which brand ?
[ Jonathan ] I used a Kemper Stage Profiler all summer for my electric , which had a tuner in it . For acoustics , a standard Clip-on tuner works just fine for me . The truth is , I lose tuners so much that I end up grabbing whichever Snark I can find .
[ Jonathan ] I ’ m partial to the Breathe album by Maverick City Music . Also , the Kingdom record with Kirk Franklin as well .
[ WM ] What is the next piece of gear you would be excited to have ?
