Proper humidification of wooden constructed instruments is a must especially if you have higher end acoustic guitars that tend to be more fragile . Taylor Guitars recently introduced their new Taylor Hydrometer . Old Hydrometers had needles like a VU meter , yes dating myself , and were frequently inaccurate . Taylor ’ s new Hydrometer is a simple to use effective digital tool priced at only $ 24.99 . The large LCD screen provides the temperature on the left and humidity level on the right side . It can be placed on a tabletop or amp , or wall mounted and is powered by two AAA batteries . Humidity range covered from 10 % -95% ( optimal for your guitars is 45 % to 55 %) and temperature range from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 158 degrees . Maintaining the proper humidity on your instruments is great preventative medicine and at this price it is worth the investment !

Five new pedals have been added to the Maestro Electronics pedal collection . These include the Titan Boost $ 159 , Mariner Tremolo $ 159 , Orbit Phaser $ 149 , Agena Envelope Filter $ 159 , and the Arcas Compressor / Sustainer $ 149 . All the pedals are essentially two effects in one thanks to the added mini toggle switch on top . Titan Boost is a tone enhancer with HPF ( high pass filter ) and level adjustment plus Hi pass or flat choices . The Mariner Tremolo has all of the controls you would expect plus toggle between modern harmonic or classic tremolos . Orbit Phaser delivers 4 or 6 stage phaser for vintage and todays sounds . Arcas Comp / Sustainer is my personal favorite providing Lo toggle for subtle compression and Hi for more pronounced . Agena Envelope filter is advanced with Lo and High envelope effects . The Maestro Electronics look vintage but are very modern in the sounds of their effects and the true bypass switching . Excellent additions to any pedalboard and two effects for the price of one .

You can replace the original standard grill cloth or order it from the factory with a custom design you create or ones they offer on the website . It was simple to upload my logo , size it up on the grill cloth and then order it on the Positive Grid website . When it arrived I simply popped the old grill cloth off and installed the new one . It looks great and everyone that sees it compliments it . The Spark MINI grill cloth is $ 25 and the Spark Grill cloth larger models sells for only $ 35 . NEW EFFECTS PEDALS FROM ORANGE
Orange has just unleashed three new effects pedals that we received in house to test and the Phaser , Sustain , and Distortion work great for guitar or bass . The Phaser effect provides authentic 70 ’ s tone and tweaking it is simple with only one knob ! The Sustain by Orange does an excellent job of holding your single notes or chords without ambient noise you don ’ t want . The Distortion effect brings the vintage rock sound with only two knobs and plenty of dirt
for power chords or solos . The three effects feature true bypass switching , LED lights on top when engaged and low noise . When using the Sustain you will see blue and purple colors pulsing through the LED depending on the depth of the effect at that time .
