[ WM ] What is your main stage and songwriting guitar and / or keyboard you use ? Please give us the brand name and model if you know it .
[ Matt Redman ] I ’ ve played a Collings CJSB175 Acoustic guitar for over a decade now – I love the sound and the feel of it , for both leading worship and songwriting . Recently I tried to swap to another guitar as my main one , but I ended up drifting back to this one . It ’ s also been so stable for travel .
[ WM ] What brand / model vocal microphone do you use on stage ? In your home studio ( if you have one )?
[ Matt ] I just use whatever they have for me – whether in church , or at an event , or in the studio . I ’ m not a technical person at all – so I just like to show up and trust the sound engineers to do their thing . Ha !
[ WM ] If you play an acoustic guitar , what pickup system is on your guitar ?
[ Matt ] It ’ s an LR Baggs Anthem – and I run the guitar through a Fishman Platinum Pro EQ DI Analog Preamp Pedal – it really makes a big difference .

[ Matt ] For a quick tune at home , GuitarTuna app on my phone . On stage , there ’ s a tuner built into the Fishman Platinum Pro pedal . Great only having to set up one pedal for both sound and tuning .
[ WM ] For In-Ear Monitors what brand are you using ?
[ Matt ] Ultimate Ears – I like how they can laser scan , and keep your scan on file .
[ WM ] What do you use to capture song ideas down with ?
[ Matt ] Just the Voice Notes app on my iPhone .
[ WM ] What is a current Worship record you enjoy listening to right now ?
[ Matt ] ‘ Seven ’ by Brooke Ligertwood . Such strong songs , but I also love the feel of the record – it captures the worshipping Church in a special way .
[ WM ] What is the next piece of gear you would be excited to have ?
[ Matt ] I ’ m not a big technical guy , so I don ’ t really ever have my eye on new gear . But I ’ ve just converted an acoustic guitar to a ‘ hi-strung ’ ( the extra 6 strings you find on a 12-string guitar , but on their own .)
