GEAR ROUND UP
CV-2 Wireless Microphone System by Donner
Level Logos Mono M80 Sleeve 2.0 Acoustic Gig Bag
The new CV-2 Wireless Microphone system from Donner converts your traditional microphones into wireless ones. The system includes a CV-2 transmitter, receiver, charging cable and a carrying pouch. First charge up the units then plug the receiver into an amp. I used the Spark EDGE and then you plug the transmitter into your microphone of choice. I tested it out with several Shure microphones and the CV-2 worked great for hands free vocals. The range isn’ t listed but I was able to walk around a large room and never lose connection. With 5ms latency it isn’ t noticeable. The small size and USB-C recharging features are great. If you have hardwired XLR microphones and sometimes require a Wireless unit it is hard to beat $ 129.99 for the CV-2 package and it works with all traditional XLR microphones. The carrycase would work for traveling youth functions also. www. us. donnermusic. com
Probably my favorite discovery at the Winter NAMM show this year. Level Logos is creating an acoustic guitar accessory that is fun, functional and cost effective. Everybody wants to personalize their guitar straps and picks, but why not customize the sound hole of your acoustic guitar? The device has three independent spring-loaded legs that keep it secure in your guitar’ s sound hole. Then choose from one of their designs on the website or create your own. Band logo, QR code, a scripture message or just your name. Then the plastic disc with the image of your choice is held on to the Level Logos device with magnets. No matter how you move your guitar the logo and message stays level. I tested it out at church, and everyone loved it, and I plan to have images created for songwriter rounds. The Level Logos sound hole mount is $ 29.95 and then image discs are $ 14.95 each. They also have a Starter kit priced at $ 74.95, and the company has Christian themed designs available too. www. levellogos. com
Many of us have chosen to leave heavy hardshell cases at home in favor of lighter padded gig bags. Mono has helped set the bar for light weight, quality and sturdy gig bags to protect our instruments. The latest Mono gig bag that WM tested out is the M80 Sleeve 2.0 Acoustic Gig Bag. Noticeable changes are the new slim Headlock system that supports the neck and headstock of your guitar inside the gig bag with an EVA rubber shock absorber. The shell of the M80 Sleeve 2.0 is made of water resistant 420D material with bar-tack stitching, steel rivets and a reinforced handle. The new handle feels much more substantial. A larger front pocket looks modern and is user friendly, with lots of space for accessories. The padding that surrounds your guitar body is substantial, and the backpack shoulder straps are robust. I tested the M80 Sleeve 2.0 Acoustic Gig Bag with a variety of guitars for Praise Team and never had to worry about my instrument’ s security. New colors are available in Burnt Orange( as tested and my favorite), Amazon Green and Midnight Blue to express your personality. Priced at $ 179.99 the M80 Sleeve 2.0 is also available for electric guitars and basses, besides the acoustic model. www. monocreators. com
