[ WM ] What brand / model vocal microphone do you use on stage? In your home studio( if you have one)?
[ Christy ] For capsule I use a DPA 4018V, and for a transmitter I use a Sennheiser SKM5200, with a Sennheiser EM3732 receiver.
[ WM ] For In-Ear Monitors what brand are you using?
[ Christy ] 64 Audio A12t
[ WM ] What do you use to capture song ideas down with?
[ Christy ] Nothing fancy here! I just use the Notes app on my phone, and I’ ll share the note if I’ m cowriting, and it’ s great way to send each other ideas and stay in the flow. I also use the Voice Memos app on my phone. I try to keep everything very organized within the app, otherwise I can quickly get overwhelmed by my ideas. I have folders for different types of songs and projects. For instance, I have a Christmas folder, a corporate Worship folder, and even a“ lullaby” folder!
[ WM ] What is a current Worship record you enjoy listening to right now?
[ Christy ] I love Matt Redman’ s Coming Back to the Heart Live album. Matt is such a trusted voice in the Worship community, and I also love his fresh approach to hymns, and even songs that have stood the test of time. This is one of those albums for me!
[ WM ] What are the biggest challenges you have faced as a woman in ministry and how have you grown through it?
[ Christy ] As you can imagine, one of the biggest challenges I have faced is trying to find that illusive balance of family, ministry and career. I am so grateful that God did come after my heart in this area when my children were little. And it was more than just about me learning to prioritize my family in that season. I really believe that God was calling me to a deeper surrender of everything to Him. He even called me to lay down my career for about five years, to“ teach my song to rise to Him”, before I sing it over anyone else! That’ s right, the first part of the bridge on the song“ Lord I Need You”( that I wrote with a band of brothers one night) came from this season of laying everything before the
