I ’ m going to start out with a bold statement .
This LR Baggs AEG-1 sets a new standard in quality tone and performance level for this class of stage / worship platform guitars .
Let ’ s be honest – acoustic guitars tend to be drowned out often in a worship band setting . You can ’ t turn them up as loud as your Telecaster-slinging electric guitarist or your heavy-analog-pad-wielding Nord keyboardist . And let ’ s not even mention the drummer . Ha !
But now your audio team has something powerful to work with . This AEG-1 was made from the ground-up for the stage / worship platform . You can turn it up loud . If you need to go even louder , LR Baggs has thrown in a feedback buster ring to place in the sound hole . But this is seriously for arena size situations – you probably won ’ t need it .
I tested this guitar in three different settings to prove its significance .
1 ). The sound of the guitar unplugged – sitting on the couch with no amplification . The acoustic tone to begin with is excellent . With the thinner body you won ’ t get a booming sound level like a dreadnaught , but you do get more of a sound level than you might expect . I call it ¾ level . If you are writing a song , it is perfectly loud enough , responds well to the dynamics of your playing and again – the tone quality is surprisingly good .
Why is this ? What is the secret sauce in this
