Silvertone New Bass Guitar & ChromAharp Models Nothing like a little Silvertone as a gift . Just like the Sears and Roebuck giant paper catalog days , but with no trees harmed in the process . Worship Musician was thrilled to get in the new 144 BSF ( Black Sparkle Flake ) Bass Guitar and a Red Sunburst ChomAharp . We played the prototypes at the last NAMM show in January but now these classics are ready for public consumption . The 144 BSF bass is based upon Sears first bass offering back in 1959 though 1966 . This re-imagined Silvertone is a 30 ” short scale version with rosewood fingerboard ( with 24 frets ), maple neck and a mahogany body . Updates also include a fully adjustable bridge that you can set intonation on and an added bridge position lipstick pickup for more higher end pop . The 144 BSF Silvertone bass has a fully adjustable dual expansion truss rod to set neck relief . Electronics include two Silvertone lipstick pickups , a Volume for each pickup and a single Tone control . The vintage style headstock on this 4-string bass looks great and it has four button style enclosed tuners . The Silvertone 144 BSF plays like a dream and sounds big and full plugged in especially with tone control rolled back a bit . The Black Silver Flake finish on the body , neck and headstock are understated until you are under stage lights then they come alive . Priced at only $ 599 , the Silvertone 144 BSF is fun and versatile . I would definitely add a gig bag to protect this bass for traveling and for shows .
Silvertone has brought back the ChromAharp but with modern updates . The new ChomAharp has 21 chord bars , pre-stressed maple frame , Nylock chord bar buttons , maple top and back . Strap buttons and the model reviewed had built-in electronics with volume and tone . Available in Gloss Black ( acoustic only ) $ 579 or Red Sunburst as reviewed with electronics for $ 669 and includes finger picks and a tuning wrench . The ChromAharp is a great instrument to add some textures at church or just for playing around home and it is quick and easy to learn . You can mic it but plugged in the Silvertone ChromAharp really came to life . www . silvertoneguitars . com
Peavey Invective 112 Tube Amplifier If you like your Holiday Music a little heavier than the typical Bing Crosby Christmas tunes then take a look at Peavey ’ s new invective 112 tube combo amplifier . This is not your grandpa ’ s Peavey Bandit . This is a loud powerful tube amplifier with a lot of options and designed with modern musicians in mind . When Worship Musician first got the invective combo in for review , I thought it had a cool modern looking boutique amplifier look to it . Then I plugged a Strandberg Boden Essential into it and had to take the wattage down to 5W & 1W , from the opening 20W so the neighbors didn ’ t breakdown my door . The Peavey invective was designed with Misha Mansoor , of the band Periphery , modeled off of his signature amp head . It is a 20-watt 2 channel combo amp with a 1 x 12 ” Celestion Vintage 30 speaker . The clean channel , which also sounds excellent and warm , has three band EQ and a
