PRS New Effects Pedals The team at Paul Reed Smith has continued to expand their musical offerings from acoustic guitars to amplifiers and now effects pedals . The line currently contains three different effects Mary Cries ( Optical Compressor ), Horsemeat ( Transparent Overdrive ), and Wind Through the Trees ( Dual Analog Flanger ). All the pedals are designed by PRS Guitars and built in the US . Mary Cries is based on the famed LA-2A studio compressor but in a foot pedal configuration . Differing from most compressors , Mary Cries can work as a boost or a compressor and does a great job adding sustain . The Horsemeat pedal provides great overdrive tones without the muddy or lost treble frequencies . The top mounted controls of Gain , Level , Voice , Treble and Bass allowing enhanced tweaking to achieve your desired overdrive sound . It is great for pushing the front end of your existing amplifier to reach that sweet spot also . Wind Through the Trees is a flanger pedal on steroids . It essentially has two flanger effects in one device , so you can go with the LFO1 or LFO2 or mix and match to get your dream flanger sound . For texture designs and filling out the frequencies in a Praise team Wind Through the Trees is a winner . All three of the PRS Guitars effects covered have true bypass switching and are constructed with through-hole soldering with the internal components that make the sounds happen .
