Some advice for your fellow worship guitar players: Love Jesus more than you love music. Practice your craft, pursue excellence, walk in humility, remain teachable and be willing to serve. Sometimes you will work really hard just to be buried in the mix below the backing track.
That’ s OK.
Jesus cares more about the cry of your heart than the sound of your guitar tone. The balance of being 100 % authentically who you are and 100 % malleable clay in the Potter’ s hands is a daily walk of surrender. Be creative. Take creative risks that require faith. Be not conformed to the algorithms of this social media worshipping world. But be a light in the darkness and an influencer for the Kingdom. This tension is necessary. You can’ t tune a string without tension. Music is tension and release. Make your life a song of worship.
