In addition to the demonstrations, many folk art and fine art pieces will be for sale from artists and vendors in the Juried Art Show & Sale or the Kiwanis Trading Post. The Trading Post will include those who sell craft tools and supplies, such as raw fleece and textile tools. Regional musicians will perform in the Park Pavilion throughout the festival. Scheduled performers include Ana & Rachel Merchant & Friends from Casper; The Fireants with David Romtvedt from Buffalo; Miss V “The Gypsy Cowbelle” from Kirby; Heaven Bound from Basin; John Brooks & Friends from Thermopolis and Ken Swick & the Vintage Cowboys, Thermopolis. The Fireants The 65th Annual Gift of the Waters Pageant will be presented both Saturday and Sunday evenings. The pageant tells the story of the treaty by which the Shoshoni and Arapaho Native American tribes presented the hot springs (now located in the park) to the government to be preserved for all people. Individuals from the Shoshoni tribe participate in the ceremony. They will be joined by Willie LeClair, Shoshone elder, from the Wind River Reservation. The Farmers Market -- usually in downtown Thermopolis on Saturday mornings -- will join the festival selling local produce and plants. There are also a variety of food vendors. Early-bird events on Friday July 31 include a photo trek/workshop on outdoor photography with nationally recognized photographer, Dr. Jeb Schenck. Schenck tested some of the first digital cameras at high altitudes in the Himalayas.
