editor’s note
A
In this issue, we have a variety of individuals who are tuned
into the world around them. It’s something I know all too well.
I am a sensitive individual (many would say too much so),
who baffles those in my genetic and by-marriage ‘family’ with
my constant thinking. ‘Over analyzing’ apparently describes
me. By ‘sensitivity,’ I refer to those individuals who observe,
reflect and apply. That’s me – the (annoying) over analyzer.
I argue it’s the over analyzers who are earth shakers. And the
earth needs a little shaking. In this issue, I’m inspired by the
action of Gene & Linda Roberts, who saw an opportunity
to recycle old, unused homestead structures in little Carlile,
and created a new, highly functional home for their family.
I’m inspired by Lander’s Brian Zinke, who uses his wildlife
photography to teach people how to properly treat our
Wyoming animal friends and conserve their habitat and way
of life. I’m inspired by authors Tammi Littrell and Jennifer
Lawrence: Tammi wrestled the emotional demons of her past
as she came to terms with terrific loss and worked to help her
father through his mourning; Jennifer saw a historic heroine

s always, I enjoy finding the inadvertent links
between our features in each issue. I never cease
to find one – and I never cease to be amazed that
these links just surface somehow, and always
unintentionally. Call it whatever energy theory you subscribe
to – but I never find it to be a fluke.
who had to date received little recognition, and took on the task
of documenting that history for future generations. Whether
the earth shaking occurred on a personal, family or societal
level, the process of taking on something that is challenging to
one’s emotions, time load, physical or financial capabilities, the
strength and courage to proceed is inspirational.
These join other stories of earth shakers in Wyoming. As this
issue I’m cutting my long-windedness short, I’ll wrap with a
simple question … Are you shaking your earth?
