MOULTON BARN by Grand Teton National Park Cultural Resources Division Mormon Row, originally called ‘Grovont,’ was an agricultural community established at the beginning of the 20th century. Founded and populated primarily by Mormons, the area’s development, layout, farming and irrigation practices, and civic organization were shaped by the Mormon pioneer experience in the American West. Unlike many other western homesteads, these Mormon homesteaders, who settled just northeast of the prominent Blacktail Butte, clustered their farms to share labor and community. The six historic homesteads that remain along Mormon Row constitute one of the best representations of an early 20th century western farming community.
