a merging point for the Meldrum and Layher

Home owners Pat and Tami Layher invited
Keith and I into their home with warmth
– and shared that the home spoke to them
from the beginning as well. “We lived in
Gillette, and Pat asked me if I’d consider
moving to Buffalo,” Tami said. “I told him
I would – but only if we could live in this
house.” Driving through town again in
the fall of 2008, Pat noticed that the home
looked unlived in; the next day, the phone
rang with the news Pat had hoped for – the
house went up for sale that day.
The condition of buying the 1916 Georgian
Bungalow – and contents ‘as is’ -- took on
a whole new meaning once they moved
in. The home’s previous occupant, Jack
Meldrum, passed away at the age of 99
