Interview

Firestarter75

Q: So you are a tournament master here on central, what made you first interested in PvP?

A: I have been into pvp almost from the first moment I started playing wizard 101. I started at a pretty low level on my first wizard, blasting away with my imps and lep's, having a ton of fun even though I had no idea what I was doing. Ever since then pvp has been the heart of the game for me. Every wizard I have made pvp's his way up the levels. I was actually quite surprised when I finally realized that most people don't pvp until they have played the game to the end at least once.

Q: Do you still have the same love for player vs player dueling, or has it sort of died with all of the problems?

A: I still love pvp, but not in the same way that I once did. Ranked pvp is very close to being so broken as to be unplayable, or at least unenjoyable. But being a tournament master has allowed me to enjoy pvp on a different level. Now I get my pvp fix from helping form Central pvp into something where people can really have fun with pvp in a friendly enviroment.

Q: What are your views on these PvP problems(puppetting mainly), and how would you fix them?

A: Lol' if i gave my thoughts on fixing all the problems in pvp you would need a whole series of articles. I'm sure those who frequent the pvp forums would agree I can get a bit long winded on most pvp issues.

As for puppet teaming specifically, there have been several really great ideas given in threads in both the pvp and feedback forums. Most of them involve some very detailed math that I won't go into here(mostly because I don't fully understand it). But the basic principle of the better ideas I have read is to count the level of the higher player(Puppeteer) more heavily than the lower level(puppet). That way the average level of the teams they faced would be higher and hopefully a more fair match.

Q: Do you ever wonder about what it would be like to start over with your character completely, and on here with Central?

A: I know it has been difficult to get up there and become a tournament master.

No, I can't imagine starting over my characters completely. It sounds kind silly when speaking about internet pixels, but there are years of time and memories in the six wizards on my account. The same with Central, I would never give up the interactions I have had over the years with so many great members here. Central people rock!
