Interview

Vanessa Mythdust

Today we had an interview with the newest tournament master for pet derby, Vanessa Mythdust!

Q: What inspired you to join Wizard101 central?

A: Well, way back when, my brother used to play wizard101. I hadn't gotten into it yet, but couldn't help but look over when he was playing. He stopped after awhile, but a few years later I saw a Wizard101 commerical. I then decided to try it. Once I started, I got hooked. I would be on for hours (still am) and enjoyed every minute of it. I had joined forums for games in the past, and had really loved the atomspshere, so I wanted one for Wizard101 as well. That's when my brother mentioned central. My original name was Fismldb (Fire Ice Storm Myth Life Death Balance), but, I recently changed it to Vanessa Mythdust.

Q: How does it feel to be Wizard101 central's newest tournament master?

A: Of course it feels great! Although I was already pretty involved with central derby, this will allow me to be even more involved. Though, I'm still trying to take it all in and get used to seeing my name in black!

Q: How different is it now that you are a tournament master?

A: Well, to me, there are two sides of central derby...the ideas, and the execution. When I wasn't a TM, I could only put ideas in, now that I am TM, I can actually help execute them, which I'm really excited about. Besides that, another big thing is responsibility. I feel I definitely have more responsibility than I did on this forum before, which I don't mind, considering derby is something I love to do.

Q: What attracts you to Pet Derbies and tournaments?

A: Derby itself is super fun! Fast paced, and very little flaws compared to PvP. Tournaments are a way for me to extend that love of derby and help me improve. By going against other great racers, I can learn from them. Just by racing other people I've learned so many different strategies, talent combinations, and much more!

Q: What is your favorite part about Wizard101 central?

A: Definitely the community. First of all, majority of central members are just great. They are super knowledgeable, kind, and include all sorts of different people. No matter what your hobby is in game, it's so easy to find people with similar interests. And that's what makes this community so great! :D

Q: What advice can you give to the community about pet derby?

A: Just try it! One or two races, you never know what may happen! And if you do try it and end up liking it, don't give up! Just like trying to get a questing pet, a derby pet can take LOTS of hatches. But, I know there are many very willing derby racers who would offer their pets to hatch. We want to see more people in the derby community, and we want to see them succeed!

Thank you so much for the interview, and we wish you good luck being a tournament master
