(Village of Elassona district)
Description
Students and teachers from Tampere-
Finland visiting Elassona-Greece with
their host students and teachers
visited “Kafkaki” the place of
execution for the villagers of
Domenico and other nearby villages
by the Italians in 1943.
They visited the high school of the
village, the folk history museum and
the monument of remembrance.
They also heard narrations of the
locals on the spot of the executions
about what they remember or have
heard from their relatives.
Reviews
Both Finnish and Greeks came close to
the history of the place during the 2 nd
world war and were touched and
shocked by the brutality of the
conquerors to the villagers.
The detailed narrations attracted the
interest of the students and the
teachers from Finland.
Practical information
Domenico is a village in the
south-east of Elassona with 677
inhabitants.
Kafkaki is the location of
execution of men from
Domenico and other villages by
the Italians.
