Transfigure Your Robes!

Has your significant other become entranced with muggle diners? Are your children enthralled by muggle museums? Well, you can’t very well walk into these establishments wearing full robes. It hasn’t been very long since certain Hermione Granger hit the public eye of wizarding Britain rallying for the wizarding world to branch out more and integrate into the muggle world. As the demand to participate in muggle activities has increased, so has the demand for muggle fashion.

Back in 2003, in honor of the five-year anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts and fashioned after the only female member of the Golden Trio, Twilfitt and Tatting’s released an all muggle fashion line. The line included boot-cut blue jeans, 1950s inspired muggle pieces, and even the introduction of the much needed little black dress. The line, titled Absorb, did so well that to this day it is one of Twilfitt’s highest grossing lines, even branching into their other locations across Europe.

Now many other dress shops have decided to follow Twilfitt’s idea and begin their own muggle inspired lines: and one of the

forerunners includes Madam Malkin’s. The competing Diagon Alley shop has made known that their new line will not only be fashionable, but also affordable and practical. Instead of having to go home and change after work to go dine at that new muggle café you love down the street, Madam Malkin has created a cloth that with a simple transfiguration spell will become completely appropriate muggle attire.

Of course Madam Malkin declined to tell us the secret behind how the charmed fabric works, but she did explain that what makes her line superior to simply transfiguring your ensemble on your own is that her newly developed cloth will hold its integrity, avoiding the risk of it falling apart after two to three transfigurations.

The idea behind Malkin’s line, Double Life, is that each outfit allows you a chance to interact in both worlds without ever having to change. It’s easy for on the go people and provides a simple alternative to carrying around an extra change of clothes. Each piece is fashionable in either world, featuring traditional robes, pants suits or casual muggle attire--including straight leg jeans, high-waisted short and peplum tops, and crop tops. For the more conservative buyer, Madam Malkin also includes multiple styles of dresses and maxi skirts.

Madam Malkin has also began offering transfiguration services where either she or one of her apprentices will modify one of your favorite pieces so that it can easily be transfigured into one of the more muggle appropriate get-ups. If you're in need of a more updated wardrobe try out the muggle style, Madam Malkin's line is both fashionable and affordable.
