A lawyer by profession, Arun Jaitley served
in finance and denfence portfolios and
oftentimes acted as the chief troubleshooter
of the Narendra Modi’s government.
Born on 28 December 1952, Arun Jaitley
did his B.Com. (Honors), LL.B. Educated at
Shri Ram College of Commerce, University
of Delhi respectively and Faculty of Law at
University of Delhi.
The key Modi aide, in his tenure, held
a good deal of positions:
> Served as an Additional Solicitor General
between 1989-90.
> Minister of State (Independent charge) of
the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
from October 1999 to July 2000.

to May 2004.
> In April 2006, Arun Jaitley re-elected to
Rajya Sabha.
