Increase In Low-Skilled Jobs In May-August -
CMIE Survey Studies
As per the survey conducted by CMIE, CEO
Mahesh Vyas says, that it is a good sign that
the rate of employment has gone up with 2.5
million people more when compared to last
year.
In India, around 404.9 people were
employed in the month of May-August.
Comparing the data of employment from
2016 until now, it has been better this year.

> May-August 2018 - 5.5 million lower than
2017
> May-August 2017 - 0.6 million lower than
2016
Every four months the Consumer Pyramids
Household Survey is conducted and it
estimates an increase in employment in this
time period.
The CEO doesn’t find it to be a piece of
totally good news because the jobs in
the sectors where employment should be
sufficient, people are losing their jobs there.
There is an increase in employment in the
agricultural sector with a decrease in the
number of jobs in the manufacturing and IT
sectors.
In total there was an increase of 7 million
jobs in the agricultural sector.

> 4.3 million jobs increased in poultry and
animal husbandry
> 0.9 million jobs decreased in manufacturing
industries
> 2.2 million jobs decreased in the textile
industries
