INDIAN TRAVELOGUE As we know Bhubaneshwar city is mostly dedicated to Lord Buddha. Visiting this place, one can have a peaceful time. The architecture and the carving of the sculptures are captivating. The caves of Udayagiri and Khandagiri shows the history of Kalinga Empire and Jain religion. There is a must visit museum in Lalitgiri. The Diamond Triangle consists of the 3 important Buddhist sites Ratnagiri, Udaygiri and Lalitgiri. Belonging to the Vajyarajyan sect of Buddhism, which is popularly known as the 100 Diamond Vehicle, and hence the name Diamond Triangle. Ratnagiri: It is believed to be established during 5th CE Buddhist site and monastery. A large number of clay sealing, found during excavation, have helped in identifying the name of this monastery as Shri Ratnagiri Mahavihariya Arya Bhikshu Samghasya. We have archaeological remains of six temples, thousands of small stupas, 1386 seals, myriad sculptural relics and architectural pieces of daily use. Prominent, well-preserved standing statues of the bodhisattvas Vajrapani and Padmapani can be found in niches in a portico. There are hundreds of miniature votive stupas decorated with lotus petals and beaded tassels. We have a large head statue of Budhha also as equal as preserved in Odisha Museum. Udaygiri: It is believed to have been active between 7th and 12th centuries. It is historical name was “ Madhavapura Mahavihara” as per epigraphical artifacts found at the site.
