Once upon a time, there lived a rich king
named Midas. He was in love with two things
in his life. One, his little daughter and the
second thing he loved was his gold. He had
gold in abundance.
Midas had a beautiful palace, in that palace
he had a lovely rose garden. One day a man
named Silenus passed by that palace when
he was drunk and not in a condition to walk
back home.
Midas is generous with this man and he
doesn’t mind him stopping by at his garden.
What do you think is the reason? Well, there
is another man named Dionysus who is the
God of wine and celebration. So, the drunk
man is his friend and Midas has a feeling that
this drunk man would wish something good
for Midas and his family.
For the sake of luck and wishes, he allows
Silenus to stay despite his wife and daughter
having an objection with it. What happens?
Dionysus is extremely happy with Midas upon
learning that he was kind to his friend and he
asks Midas to make a wish. Midas asks for
turning everything that he touches into gold.
Dionysus thinks to himself that this is a bad
idea and understands that it might not prove
good for Midas yet he grants his wish.
Midas runs back to his garden and pleads for
Dionysus to grant him a wish of getting his
daughter back to life and promises not to be
greedy the next time. Dionysus gives him back
his daughter and thereafter, Midas learns to be
satisfied and happy with everything that he has
instead of asking for more.
