TECHNOLOGY Vivo/Synaptics Clear ID FS9500 fingerprint sensor: Honda’s new concept robots may be just as cute as they are useful. At CES, the company showcased its 3E Robotics concept, which includes several robot companions all designed to serve different functions. Robot 3E-A18 is Honda’s social empathy robot. The company says it’s meant to represent the idea that robots can support people by providing a sense of compassion and understanding. In a demo at CES, the roving robot’s glowing face frequently changed its expression as it greeted the crowd. Honda’s 3E-B18, comparatively, is a 148 robotic chair concept, while 3E-C18 includes cargo space for transporting materials. Honda 3E Robotics Concept by far is the laptops’ HDR support, which makes colors look bold and vivid, arguably adding much more noticeable improvements than 4K resolution. 7- Lenovo ThinkPad 8- Volocopter X1 Carbon and Yoga The Volocopter passenger- carrying drone that hails from Germany isn’t completely new, but it did take to the air on US soil for the first time at CES 2018, proving that we’re closer than ever to a future where we’re all getting transported around by stripped-down helicopters that can think for themselves. Lenovo’s long-running ThinkPad lineup is getting some worthwhile new additions at this year’s CES. Both new ThinkPad computers include a dazzling HDR display, a built-in physical webcam cover, and far-field microphones for speaking to Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana. The two laptops also run on Intel’s newest eighth- generation processors. The technology is still being developed and refined, and as yet there’s no word on when the rest of us will be able to clamber inside a Volocopter – but that day is getting closer. Among the many, many other drones spotted on the show floor at CES 2018 was an upgraded version of the AirSelfie, with longer flight times, a better integrated camera, and extra on- board storage. 9- Razer Project Linda From the soon-to-be-available and the practical to the more outlandish: Razer’s Project Linda is a concept device put together by the gaming firm that transforms the Razer Phone into a fully fledged laptop.
