“Fear Factor”
On March 6, twenty-four students from B-3 and G-3 participated
in “Fear Factor” with food in the FBC. Of course, the food used
was nothing like the TV program but had just as many laughs
and “Ewwws” connected with it. Students drew numbers which
established their team and which of the 12 boxes they would
encounter. As their turn arrived, a roll of a dice determined which
food hidden under the box would be theirs. Prior to revealing the
food, descriptions of what was hidden beneath were read to the
audience so they could guess what was to be consumed. Those
who ate their surprise snack were awarded a point and those who
made the attempt were given half a point. Students had the option
of forgoing their treat if they felt it would not agree with them.
With no surprises, foods like black olives, Spam, and buttermilk
were gone in seconds. However, other foods such as pimento loaf
bologna, sauerkraut, and pickled herring were having a hard time
being consumed. The White team finished with 12 points and the
Yellow team finished with 10.5 points. The last unlabeled box
involved one staff from G-3 and one from B-3. Holly Gerk and
Mark Wanninger braved the dill pickle dipped in Tang - orange
drink mix concoction to the cheers and laughs of the group.
Frolicking in the Water!
Springtime in Wisconsin brings time for playing in water! The B-4
and G-4 high school students went to an indoor water park at Country
Springs Water Park in Waukesha to frolic in the water on March 19. They
then went to Culver’s for delicious custard ice cream! The B-3 and G-3
elementary students played in the water at the Whitewater Aquatic Center
in Whitewater on April 5 while the middle school students cannon-balled
in Delavan-Darien High School in Delavan on April 17.
