Wedding
Bells!

As part of the Marriage and family class, couples
worked together to plan a mock wedding on
February 14. Field trips were made to Lakeland
Bakery (who donated the top layer of the
wedding cake), Lake lawn Lodge, Utiger’s
Jewelery, Lake Geneva Bridal Shop, and King
Travel for honeymoon plans. Couples were
given $10,000 to work with and had to keep
within their budget for all of their costs. They
also designed their wedding invitations and
practiced vows related to class. The class also
studied relationship building, conflict resolution,
and guides to effective communication.

This year’s couples were Dia Xiong and Mike
Glassbrenner, Courtney Gunville and Jairo Tinoco,
Jenny Filak and Clifford Robinson, Joshua Novak,
and Anessa Wohlfarth (bride substitute), and Cassie
Carter and Mark Ouradnik. The mock wedding
“Justice of the Peace” was teacher Chris Woodfill.
