ART SCHOOL HOSPITALITY AT
THE FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL
Chef Paul Askew of The Art School
Restaurant cooked up a storm in Birkenhead
Park on both nights of the Wirral Food &
Drink Festival, creating culinary delights
for concert-goers in an unforgettable setting
which included an ice sculpture centrepiece.
On the Saturday evening, as the Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Orchestra tuned up backstage,
Paul Askew served up an exquisite menu of
fruits de mer from the ice sculpture, sirloin
accompanied by ox cheek and a classic lemon
tart, followed by a selection of artisan cheeses.
The Sunday evening saw guests treated to
canapés and grazing dishes, including The
Art School’s signature sharing dessert platter,
before some of Merseyside’s best loved bands
took to the stage - with Lighting Seeds, The
Christians and China Crisis performing their
most popular hits to a packed audience in the
spectacular setting of Birkenhead Park.
