WIRRAL FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL
The first-ever Wirral Food & Drink Festival
has been hailed a massive success after
thousands flocked to Birkenhead Park for the
inaugural event. The park was shown at its
finest as glorious sunshine brought food and
drink lovers out to experience over 30 of the
finest producers and traders from the borough
and beyond in the world’s first public park.
Both days saw cookery demonstrations from a
fantastic celebrity chef line-up which included
Paul Askew of The Art School Restaurant in
Liverpool, Ellis Barrie from The Marram Grass
- who will soon be seen on our TV screens for
the revival of Ready, Steady, Cook - Tommy
Heaney of Heaney’s Restaurant and Great
British Menu, Richard Collingwood of The
Lawns Restaurant at Thornton Hall Hotel and
Paul Da Costa Greaves from Koppert Cress.
The weekend also featured activities and
entertainment for all the family, with bands
and musicians taking to the main and acoustic
stages on both days to provide a magical
musical backdrop to the festival.
