us growing up. Doing the jobs we do, Mark and I are acutely aware that there are many people, especially children, who have been much less fortunate than we have. There is a chronic shortage of foster carers in Wirral and across the UK to provide caring homes for children who have been taken into care. We had the capacity, with help from my parents and the support of our own children, to offer a home to some of Wirral’s looked after children and it really has been the most remarkable experience. Where do you like to holiday? I’m in love with Italy as a holiday destination. We have been to Bergamo Alta, Rome and Sperlonga this year (all via Liverpool John Lennon Airport with Blue Air) and they were all fabulous. Where do you like to eat? I’m really enjoying EST Italia in West Kirby at the moment – relaxed Italian dining. How do you like to relax? On the sofa with my husband Mark watching Suits! Guilty pleasure? Breakfast in bed. Plans for the future? I am always making plans – at home and in work. I’m quite driven in that way. I still have a big job of work to do to get Wirral Chamber to be the very best in the country and that is my focus for the next few years. Beyond that I’m looking forward to travelling to visit our children as they set up home with their families wherever that takes them. wirrallife.com wirrallife.com 25 19
