LUXURY HOMES SHOWCASE EVENT
Thornton Hough based Bortram luxury homes held its first showcase this week at Farr Hall in Lower Heswall , in partnership with award winning chef Dave Critchley . Bortram luxury homes , a Bortram Group company , specialise in renovating bespoke , one off , projects using high end marine quality fixtures and fittings , alongside the most prestigious architects . Bortram ’ s creative , talented team , male and female are employed directly and work effortlessly , in harmony , with trusted long term associates built up over many years .
Farr Hall was previously two apartments which the client wanted to merge into one living space . The clients spec . was to simply create his “ forever home ” and was open to ideas to achieve this . Working alongside each other the client and Bortram envisaged an open plan ' entertaining ' living space . This started by removing most of the studded walling and suspended ceilings and restoring the height of original high Victorian ceilings , mixing the old with the new and creating a backlight ' coffer ' ceiling . The entire project was achieved by using a respectful blend of traditional materials such as marble and oak alongside the latest smart LED lighting and sound systems inspired by super yachts .
Whilst guests marvelled at the property and decor , celebrity chef Dave Critchley kept everyone entertained in the spacious open plan kitchen . Showcasing his dazzling modern Chinese food and his showbiz flair , Dave introduced his recently released cook book ‘ Cherry Blossom ’ and showcased his cooking methods whilst serving an array of delicious canapés including his signature hot and sour soup , Szechuan lobster and slow roasted Jiang Lamb .
Executive head chef and director at Lu ban restaurant Liverpool , Chef Dave is the first western master chef trained in China . As well as running the incredibly successful Lu Ban restaurant , he offers bespoke private dining experiences which are exclusive to each individual client , enabling all events to be catered for to the highest standard .
Speaking at the event Dave said the attention to detail in the property and particularly the quality of the product and finish in the kitchen were amazing , it ’ s always a pleasure to work with this calibre of equipment . What a fantastic event tonight has been !
