We ’ re back at the award winning Tapas Kitchen in West Kirby to try the new dishes on the menu from Colin , Peter , Phil and the chef ’ s while they were finalising the last touches .
Our favourite kind of chef ’ s are restless and those who ‘ can ’ t leave it alone ’, constantly looking for the quality inspiration from afar , then add their own unique twist on something relatively and regionally unknown . Hence , Wirral Life Awards ‘ Wirral Gold Restaurant Of The Year ’ Winner .
All of your favourites are still available , this review is purely the new creations and some of their updated classics . From it ’ s creative inception 5 years ago , the chefs have been feverishly working on their own ‘ point of difference ’. You must try the new selection , it clearly wasn ’ t put together overnight .
AND SO WE BEGIN ...
• Stonebaked Spanish bread with a Tomato Tartare - their version of Pan con Tomate .
• The TTK classic sharing board - air dried Iberian ham , caramel glazed chorizo , DOP manchego ( the cheese of our dreams ), creamy picos blue cheese with honey and walnuts , Dulce de membrillo quince paste , paired with a glass of PX Sherry .
• Woodland mushrooms in a whipped vegan butter , sabayon roasted garlic and wilted greens ( vegan ).
• Handmade ham hock croquetas with a heritage golden beetroot salsa .
• Our renowned favourite - The Fabada - Asturian bean stew , succulent soft cooked roast pork , smokey pimenton seasoned broth .
• Artisan butifarra sausage ( La morcilla Blanca ) with a sticky sweet bacon jam .
• Their version of Cadiz Bay seafood fitters , lime infused pico de gallo .
• Butter poached king prawns , tomato essence garlic and chilli . WHAT ’ S FOR AFTERS ?
• Blanco Y negro - Their take on an Affrogato Vanilla ice cream with a Licor 43 with espresso caramel and crushed pistachio nuts .
• Homemade Basque Cheesecake , honey soaked raisins , whipped fresh cream .
• Sugar and cinnamon coated Churros with a blackcurrant and rich chocolate dipping salsa .
• A glass of Moscatel desert wine .
• Valencian cafe bombon ( espresso and condensed milk )
