LEAR HOUSE RESIDENTS HAVE FUN
October has been a busy month at Lear House .
Ailsa Wright , Manager at Abbeyfield said : " We were very excited to welcome a new visitor called Puddles and her owner from Therapy Dogs Nationwide . Research has shown how much people benefit from visits from therapy dogs and our residents loved interacting with Puddles and finding out more about her .
" Regular music performances have continued throughout the summer and our residents have enjoyed singing and dancing along to their favourite songs .
" Our staff members took part in First Aid for Mental Health Level 2 Training . Many people won ’ t have heard of First Aid for Mental Health before – it ’ s the provision of initial support to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is given . One in four people in the UK with have a mental problem at some point in their lifetime so it ’ s important for everyone to be aware of what they can do to help and support colleagues and friends ."
