LINGHAMS JOHN BARNES BOOK LAUNCH
On 14th October , there was a packed house at Thornton Hall Hotel with red lighting that shone from the walls and a sea of red shirts for the launch of John Barnes ' new book : The Uncomfortable Truth about Racism .
Expertly interviewed by Kevin Sampson , also an author and friend of John ’ s , John gave an eloquent account of the reasons why he has written this book and how it took him over 4 years to write . It is clearly something which he is hugely passionate about and quite rightly so .
John talked about how society needs to change its way of thinking and be re-educated . Not just in football but in everyday life . Strong examples were given which really made you sit up , think .
Customers got a chance to put their questions to John during the Q and A and there were some really interesting ones put to him .
After the talk , John met more or less every person there and spent quality time with each customer , posing for photos and making us laugh a lot .
This book is a really important book to read not just for football fans but for everyone who wants the world to be a better place .
