RESIDENTS AT LEAR HOUSE KEEP BUSY WITH A RANGE OF ACTIVITIES
Residents at Lear House have been keeping busy with a range of activities over the past couple of months .
Ailsa Wright , Manager at Abbeyfield said : " We have been keeping our minds active learning French with Barbara . Some of our residents studied French at school and others are complete beginners so we are all learning together . So far we have learnt to introduce ourselves , count from one to ten and also the vocabulary for everyday things like pens and pencils . Our sessions are fun and interactive with music , games and plenty of laughs .
" Our Art Therapy sessions with Nicky from Sweet Pea Art have also restarted . The sessions are a great way to get creative and make something which can be enjoyed afterwards . So far we have made canvasses with masking tape , paint and decorated pebbles to go in our garden . At our next session later this month we are going to try felt making .
" We have celebrated some milestone birthdays and also marked Halloween with decorations and quizzes . On Bonfire Night we were treated to a firework display in the car park followed by a special tea .
" Everyone is looking forward to Christmas and there are lots of exciting things in store !"
