CLAIRE HOUSE ONE CHANCE BALL Claire House Children’s Hospice held its first ever One Chance Ball at Thornton Manor’s Walled Garden Pavilion on Friday 4th October, raising £140,000 for the charity. The Ball was hosted by Simon Rimmer and featured an exclusive acoustic performance by Rebecca Ferguson. The evening’s headline sponsor Sandra Kirkham, MD of Progress to Excellence Group, opened the event alongside Claire House Director of Care, Janet Sutherland-Oaks, who explained that the hospice is struggling to keep up with demand for its services due to an 84% increase in the number of children and families coming to the hospice in the last six years. Claire House held the Ball to raise vital funds to meet the increase in demand and so the hospice’s nursing team can continue to provide the very best care to local children and their families. Event organiser Jess Campbell said: “Without our sponsors, Progress to Excellence Group, Verum Victum Healthcare, Sarah White Aesthetics and The Red Fox, we would not have been able to hold such a spectacular event and raise the money we did to reach more families who need Claire House." 86 wirrallife.com 88
