AFTERNOON TEA IN THE COUNTRY
AT THE MOUSE AT BRIMSTAGE
First created by the Duchess of Bedford in 1830, The Duchess found taking an
afternoon snack to be the perfect refreshment that she soon began inviting her
friends to join her. Afternoon tea quickly became an established and convivial
repast in many households.
Carrying on the tradition of the Duchess of Bedford, Afternoon Tea is served daily
at The Mouse in the Conservatory offering a wonderful and memorable experience
for all occasions.
Join us in our rural setting to relax and enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches,
freshly made scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve and freshly
brewed tea or coffee, or why not indulge with a glass of champagne. The Wirral's

About Brimstage Hall: Standing on a slight eminence at what appears to be the
geographical centre of the Wirral, Brimstage Hall is a strange and mysterious place.
There is no record of why, when or for whom it was built… Almost certainly the
original house was a compact, fortified, building of the pele tower type, standing
at the centre of a fortified area some sixty acres, the whole being enclosed within a
moat and high embankment. Expert opinions concerning the date of the original
building range from 1175 to 1350.
