W FEATURE L STOVE ADVICE. GET IT WHILE IT’S HOT! Gavin Scott of Hot Stuff Stoves, Hoylake, is a specialist in all things stove related. With more than 20 years’ experience designing, manufacturing and installing fires, stoves and cookers, Gavin is well placed to advise on the ‘hottest’ heating solutions. During my 20 year career, I have seen all aspects of the stove industry. I’ve been proud to win national awards for design, including ‘Best Fireplace of the Year’ three times. My stove designs are still currently very popular in America and are available in more than 60 outlets. When I decided, several years ago, to move away from manufacturing my own designs to open a stove showroom - there was only one brand I trusted enough to supply exclusively. I had a strong relationship with ESSE and was even asked to undertake some designs for them. The decision to become a specialist ‘ESSE Centre’ was a simple one as the precision engineering and impressive technology of these British-made stoves made all installations trouble free. As well as residential work, we have undertaken several restaurant/bars including the award-winning Art School restaurant (Liverpool), The Albert’s Schloss (Manchester) and most recently Simon Rimmer’s latest venture The Viking Pub and Bakehouse in West Kirby. As an exclusive ESSE Centre, our showroom houses an extensive range of solid fuel and gas stoves, range cookers and firewalls. 54 wirrallife.com All stoves within the range are approved for burning in a smoke control zone, which is essential for Wirral. We are very excited to have the ESSE 100 KC on display in our showroom. This contemporary long- legged stove is available in gunmetal or black and is compatible with the ESSE auto-ignition system. It has decorative layered fins above the fire door and can be ordered as a 5kW or 8kW version. In my opinion, this stunning new stove is going to become one of our biggest sellers this year. Kate Darroch joined Hot Stuff several years ago and since then she has transformed the showroom into a truly stunning and unique place to visit. Her attention to detail is evident in every room set and it isn’t unusual for people to come in to ask advice on decorating or just to gather some inspiration. We also now have a ‘Home Interior’ side to the showroom offering gifts, cards, decorations and one-off pieces for your home. Kate has enlisted several local artisans to sell their wares from the showroom which guarantees a gift that can’t be found on the high street. I feel it truly is a lovely experience to visit us whether it be for a stove, fuel, a gift or just to draw some inspiration from us. If you would like to see our range cookers in action, buy a gift or treat yourself why not attend our next Christmas event on Tuesday 5th December from 6pm, mulled wine and festive fayre will be served.
