Choral Christmas Concert Wirral welcomes the esteemed Choir from Jesus College, Cambridge who are performing a special“ Choral Christmas” concert at St Saviours Church, Oxton. The concert is in aid of“ So The Child May Learn’’, a charity supporting the education of needy children in Nepal. The Choir, directed by Mark Williams, includes Matthew Hughes, a former Birkenhead School student. The choir will be hosting a workshop at Birkenhead School for current pupils as part of their visit to the area. Christmas with West Kirby Methodist Church West Kirby Methodist Church is holding a wide range of events and services over the Christmas period to which everyone is welcome. Throughout December, the Art and Craft Exhibition will be telling the Christmas story. Centred on five embroidered panels by the renowned artist Sue Symonds, the exhibition will include items made by members of the local community using a wide variety of materials including embroidery, drawing and painting, children’ s art, flowers and music. Each of Sue Symond’ s panels is painted in the middle with additional calligraphy and surrounded by a broad band of hand embroidery. Carol Singing in Heswall Lower Village Get in the Christmas mood by joining in carol singing around the Christmas tree in Heswall Lower Village. This is a lovely event which we enjoy every year,” said Dr Steve Anderson, chairman of The Heswall Society, which organises the sing-song.“ We will be accompanied by the Lyceum Band, and the carols are being led by the Rector of St Peter’ s Church, the Revd Martin Cannam.“ We are also very grateful to Petrocelli’ s, who will be providing refreshments.
