LORD MAYOR ' S GALA DINNER
On Saturday 14 May , Liverpool Town Hall hosted the final fundraising event of the Mayoral year for Cllr Mary Rasmussen , where the Lord Mayor was joined by fellow Civic Leaders , friends , family , supporting businesses and her three chosen charities : The Whitechapel Centre , Tom Harrison House , and Speke Training and Education Centre .
Despite COVID , and with only six months to carry out any meaningful fundraising , the Lord Mayor was thrilled to announce that over £ 50,000 had been raised . Local businesses were extremely generous in donating dozens of prizes for the raffle and auction .
The Lord Mayor ’ s key driver for the year was ‘ inclusive ’ and this was reflected by phenomenal support from the Chinese community all year round , the Sportsmen ’ s Dinner , Dragon Boat Race , and the sell-out ‘ Let ’ s Fill the Phil ’ ( Philharmonic Hall ). The Lord Mayor thanked everyone for magnificent support and generosity .
