IN BRIEF YOUNG WIRRAL UNDERDOGS ‘ZULU’ WIN LIVERPOOL ROCKS! PARKGATE FESTIVAL 2017 Parkgate Fest, a brand new festival of live music, food & drink, children’s entertainment, stalls and more, will take place on the weekend of 3rd & 4th June 2017. There will be music from new, established and tribute artists, steam engines, classic cars, FootGolf, a Sheep Show, Champagne, Gin and Beer tents, street food stalls and fairground rides including a dedicated kids area for youngsters to enjoy their own space. There’ll be pony rides, fun and dancing, face painting and plenty of other exciting activities suitable for young people of all ages. The first of its kind, the festival is being organised and delivered by residents and traders from the local area with proceeds going towards community improvement projects under the ‘Parkgate Vision’ banner. The festival will take place on fields surrounding Marsh Nurseries off Boathouse Lane in beautiful Parkgate - Cheshire’s only coastal village. A newly formed young Indie Rock band ‘Zulu’, from Wirral Grammar School For Boys, have beaten 27 other unsigned Merseyside bands to win the Liverpool Rocks! Battle of the Band 2017 competition which took place over 4 stages & 10 separate nights. After successfully passing through the previous rounds, the final was held on April 29th at the O2 Academy Liverpool, where Zulu played against the 4 other groups that were successful in reaching the final.
