W HAIR L SUMMER HAIR BY ANDREW COLLINGE The effects of winter, cold weather and central heating can easily take its toll on our hairstyle making it dry, dull and lifeless. With Summer on its way, it’s time to consider refreshing your hairstyle. A fresh cut will rejuvenate any hairstyle adding volume and bounce to outgrown cuts. Whilst the last year’s catwalks introduced us to a number of shorter styles, 2017 collections saw the trend for shorter haircuts continue. Many stylists made the shift towards a more unkempt finish and we saw a clear movement towards short hair with grungy lived-in texture. 90’s inspired chin-skimming bobs, short cropped bowl cuts and textured pixie crops have all crept back onto the catwalk and have never looked better. The Short Bob Alexander Wang’s forthcoming collection was one of the front runners with this look, but since February’s fashion weeks, we’ve seen many models, celebrities and stylists follow suit. After its stint in the limelight, the long bob has now taken a backseat and this sharper, shorter take on the bob is evidently becoming one of the major hair trends for 2017. The Pixie Cut For those adventurous enough to make a more dramatic change in length, the pixie cut is another option. This season’s trend has seen stylists keeping shorter cuts very textured, with plenty of layers and length through the fringe. Keeping the hair short underneath and long through the front and top will enable you to enhance your style with product to create a tousled edgy looking finish. If you’re unsure about which hairstyle would suit you, drop into any Andrew Collinge salon for a free consultation with one of our stylists. 52 wirrallife.com
