THE TAPAS KITCHEN TAKEAWAY by Si Hall & Arthur Gold
Covid-19 has hit everyone extremely hard we have all had to adapt to a new way of life and the hospitality industry has been one of the most hit .
The Tapas Kitchen have had to reinvent themselves from being Wirral ’ s number one tapas restaurant ( Wirral life GOLD award winner 2019 ) to a click and collect takeaway business , allowing customers to pick a Covid secure time slot .
We chose a mixed selection of dishes via their dedicated online ordering system . The Tapas Kitchen have a limited menu with the takeaway offering the best of their dedicated vegan , seafood and meat selections ...
We picked the following dishes : ‘ Pisto ’ - an aubergine and vegetable stew which is a La Mancha speciality .
Valencian Style oven baked rice – The Tapas Kitchens take on a vegan paella with roasted peppers , vegetable , edamame beans and spinach ,
Cauliflower Rebozado - I ’ m not normally a fan of cauliflower but this is something else ! The cauliflower is coated in a lightly spiced batter , deep fried and served with a classic roasted hazelnut Romesco dipping sauce .
Woodland Mushrooms - a mixed variety of woodland mushrooms in garlic , olive oil and pimento dulce with wilted greens .
Butter poached King prawns in a garlic butter with a hint of chilli and spinach .
Andalusian style chicken – a fantastic saffron and cinnamon dish with raisins and topped with toasted pine nuts .
We couldn ’ t NOT take home the “ pièce de résistance ” Wirral Life magazines staple diet ‘ Fabada ’ – wonderful gigantes bean , artisan sausage and pimenton stew , there are no words to explain how good this one is !
All dishes come served in their own recyclable dish and we loved the little handwipes and paper napkins that came with it . We are sure this would make a great picnic idea ( when we are allowed of course ).
Everything was absolutely excellent , and none of the finesse and flavour sensations were lost in takeaway translation , can ’ t wait to physically get back in there .
Open Thursday – Saturday from 4pm ( open Mothers Day ’ s from 2pm ). 42 wirrallife . com
