CHARITY EVENT RAISES OVER £9,000 FOR
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES
A charity event organised by two Wirral
Mum’s raised over £9,000 for Ronald
McDonald House Charities at Arrowe Park
Hospital.
The event held on 2nd March at Sheldrakes
restaurant in Heswall was organised by
Laura Hutton (Mum to Theo), her sister Sally
Roberts and Laura Gibson (Mum to Henry)
from West Kirby.
After staying at a Ronald McDonald House
themselves for two weeks when their babies
were born in October 2017, they wanted to
give something back to the home from home,
aiming to raise £5,000 to sponsor a room in
their sons names.
Overwhelmed by the support and the
amount of raffle and auction prizes from local
businesses, friends and family the event was
a huge success with 200 people attending
resulting in them nearly doubling their target.
The girls are hugely grateful to Sheldrakes for
their hospitality, to Gary Salisbury (Henry’s
Grandad) and local band Eden who played on
the night and to Jamie Greer from the band
who hosted the entire evening.
The grand total raised when this was printed
was £9,457.11 (and there are still donations
coming in) which means they can sponsor a
room at the charity for at least three years.
This means a lot to Theo and Henry’s families
as they were given a place to stay when their
babies were in the neonatal unit at Arrowe
Park and they want other parents to be able
to have the same.
