WHAT'S HOT? A GUIDE TO BUYING AN OVEN Here are some of my favourites:- SEIMANS IQ 700 WITH HOME CONNECT (YOU CAN COOK OVER THE WIFI) If you are anything like me I love to entertain and find cooking not only the way that I show love but also how I relax. I was recently looking to upgrade my oven and although I have purchased hundreds of ovens for clients in the past, this is the first time that I had researched buying an oven for myself and I can reveal that it threw up some challenges! Firstly I am not as young as I used to be and I don’t really want to be bending down to take dishes in and out of the oven, so an Aga, sadly, is out of the design plan! WHIRLPOOL FUSION AKZM 8920/GK BUILT-IN OVEN IN STAINLESS STEEL An eye level oven is what I would prefer and then secondly the dimensions, I often cook for a large amount of people and struggle to get a decent roasting pan in the doors, once I had identified this requirement I started looking around for larger eye level ovens and was disappointed to find very few! Thirdly, I did not want a black or silver oven, I wanted the oven to be a feature, maybe add a pop of colour in the kitchen, which led me to even fewer choices. Next on the list was self cleaning, come on, which one of you dear readers really wants to clean the oven, so I started looking for pyrolytic ovens. Then I had to make the choice of single or double, in the end I went for two double ovens and a warming drawer, not to be underestimated! Finally, what type of cooking did I want to do, the list now seems endless, but I chose a combi oven that bakes, grills and steams. The winner I hear you ask? Well I can reveal that I went for the Miele H 6290 B Oven 90 cm with XXL oven compartment and PerfectClean and the only compromise was the colour! So if you are looking for an oven for your kitchen bear in mind the following and it should be an open and closed case! What type of oven do you want? • Eye Level, Floor, Cooker i.e a Range? • Single or Double, Warming Drawer, Microwave? • Measure your space and check the location to ensure its fits and has power and or gas. • Budget – not to be underestimated - ovens range from £300 to over £15,000 - they are an important investment. • Special features for example self cleaning, steam, microwave, Tepanaki grill, BBQ etc. 66 wirrallife.com FOR THAT POP OF COLOUR AND OLD SKOOL LOOK AGA:
