You’ ve duetted with a legion of legendary stars, but who was your favourite? And who would you love to do a duet with? George Michael. The first time that I properly met George was when we sang together at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness [ at Wembley Stadium in London in 1992 ]. We’ d had the same manager, and I’ d said hello to him, but we’ d never really sat down and talked before then. It was an unbelievable event. I remember I was in the middle of this rehearsal room with 100 really famous people all around me. I had no makeup on and I was eating a bacon muffin.
In between albums, you’ ve turned your hand to acting. Did you get the same kick out of it as music? Music will always be my first love, but I really enjoy acting- it’ s a different kind of kick.
Ever been starstruck? I have been lots of times but one very memorable time is when I met Prince. My mum clasped onto Prince’ s hands and said“ Oh hello Prince, I’ m Lisa’ s mum. Oh haven’ t you got little hands, like a boy?”
Most embarrassing moment. Too many to remember.
What’ s your favourite food? I love a good Chinese.
Do you have a strict beauty regime? Not really, I try to look after myself as much as possible though.
What words of wisdom would you give to wannabe pop stars? Be true to yourself.
You’ re touring Europe again with the new album, but where is your favourite holiday destination? New York.

Lisa Stansfield has announced that her new album‘ Deeper’ will be released on April 6 2018 on earMUSIC.
The first track to be made available is‘ Everything’- with its groove, funk, soul and signature vocals, the song is an exciting taster of what we can expect from the new album.‘ Everything’ is available instantly when pre-ordering the album‘ Deeper’ and can be streamed on Spotify.
Written by Lisa and her song-writing partner Ian Devaney, produced by Ian & Mark“ Snowboy” Cotgrove, and with Lisa taking the role of executive producer,‘ Deeper’ is the iconic soul singer’ s eighth studio album.
Speaking about the record the Grammy nominated, multi BRIT, Ivor Novello and Silver Clef Award winner said“ Creating this album was a wonderful adventure. I really believe there’ s a special something in this record. I’ m so excited to let it go out into the big wide world with pride.”
Lisa will be performing on 10th April 2018 at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
