Top 3 Trends from AW17 Fashion week
From the braided styles at Antonio Berardi to the super sleek hair at Erdem, this year’ s Autumn Winter fashion shows gave us all the hair inspiration we need for the coming months.
1) You don’ t always need a perfect finish
Many stylists made the shift towards a more unkempt finish and we saw a clear movement towards mussed up waves, twists and texture both in short and longer hairstyles.
Notable designers featuring this look included Preen at London Fashion Week, and Jenny Packham in New York. Both took the opportunity to dress hair in soft loose waves, twisting and pinning sections to give each look an ethereal finish. Braids are still on the radar and multiple braids were tangled, twisted and pinned to create showstopping hairstyles at the Antonio Berardi show, whilst Elle Saab, Valentino and Balmain also opted for braided styles.
2) Accessorise your look
Accessories played a large role in the Autumn Winter collections and a number of stylists used statement pieces to put the final touches to their looks. Whilst Temperley London, Tory Burch, Rochas and Emilia Wickstead chose glamorous ribbons, Toga adorned hair in vintage hair brooches, Altzurra sent models down the catwalk with embellished headbands and JW Anderson gave a nod to the 80s, adopting the flashy single statement earring.
3) Sleek is still chic
Texture may be on the rise, however, the sleek look was still in wide circulation. Carolina Herrera and JW Anderson stole the show when it came to sleek chic and both chose to dress hair in tight low ponytails with slick side partings. Each straightened hair through the length giving hair a smooth classic finish.
