TRANMERE GARDEN STARTS TO BLOOM
Martyn Best , our inside man at Tranmere Rovers has some good news about the progress of the Wirral ’ s very exciting new hospitality venue .
With the heat of the summer bearing down upon us , the thoughts of many of our readers turn to only one thing – an ice-cold German Beer .
As many of our readers will also know , Tranmere Rovers are hoping to satisfy that summer ambition with an exciting collaboration with German Kraft Beer , and the creation of their striking new Tranmere Garden – as we can officially announce the new name .
Ben Harrison of Tranmere Rovers Trust , one of the key partners in this new venture declared , “ We have been working constantly behind the scenes with the new fan park and are pleased to announce that after careful examination of the costings , we are now in a position to be able to instruct all the necessary parties to move ahead with design specification . Detailed drawings of the new facility have now been completed so that all pre planning conditions can be met to Wirral Borough Council ’ s satisfaction and that construction can start as soon as possible .
“ The next few weeks should start to see some noticeable progress taking place on site , and we are really hoping to have the new venue open by the end of 2022 or early 2023 at the latest .
“ Our partners German Kraft Beer have been working very closely with ourselves throughout the whole process and we are looking forward to continuing our positive relationship throughout the construction process .”
Andrea Ferrario , the Head of Operations at German Kraft , who the Tranmere fans have met many times during the build up to this point expressed his delight , “ We are so pleased that we
are now in a position to be building the Tranmere Garden . Our own key investment with the brewery will be ready once the structure is in place , and I can guarantee that the beer will be as cold and as crisp when we open , as it would be today .”
This news comes on the back of the Club itself , together with Wirral Borough Council commissioning a feasibility study into the long-term strategy for the Club in connection with the development of Sports City Wirral at the former Bidston Dock .
Showing the continuing vision of the Club to look to its future , the proposed ambitious , large scale and integrated regeneration project is seen as a catalyst for the whole Left Bank regeneration scheme .
Chairman , Mark Palios said : “ From the Club ’ s perspective , once the feasibility study is approved , its results will help determine whether or not a stadium move will contribute to Tranmere Rovers being capable of becoming a self-sustainable Championship club .
“ Once the outcome of the study is known we shall enter into a period of consultation with the fan base .”
Ben Harrison echoed the ambition of the Club , “ A new Fan Park will enable us to continue to raise significant funds for the Trust and subsequently , the football club , so that we can continue to support Club and community projects .
“ We hope that this new hospitality venue will help to assist making Tranmere Rovers a top League One club , being able to challenge for promotion to the Championship .”
