PAULA ROBERTS MEMORIAL NETBALL TOURNAMENT MAGGIE ' S FUNDRAISER
Over a year on from their planned memorial Netball tournament the tri-4-life team and Tranmere Rovers in the Community brought together nine teams to compete in this very special event to raise funds for Maggie ' s Cancer Support Centre in memory of Paula Roberts .
Paula ' s family and friends joined together in ' remembrance and friendship ' in a fun packed event for all ages and abilities . The opening fixtures saw the mixed teams face one another to gain points in a matrix scoring system before the semi-final and final play-off games .
The sport and festival atmosphere saw the Dolly Reds & Dolly Blacks face off in an all action and evenly match final with Dolly Blacks emerging victorious . Well done to all the teams for taking part in the tournament and to Capitol Solutions for provided the winners medals .
tri-4-life ' s Pat Riley was winner of the charity shoot out and Rhys Hanlon was the most improved player of the tournament . Over forty raffle prizes were donated from local businesses and individuals and Tranmere Rovers football club enabled facilities to be used free of charge for the event . Huge thanks to Dawn Tolcher for organising everything and to Kylie and Heather for the coaching in preparation for the games and to everyone involved in making it such a great day . Dave Robert , Paula ' s husband said ' Paula would be so proud that we continue to raise monies in her memory for a wonderful charity that offers such worthwhile support to us all '.
