LOCKDOWN CELEBRATIONS
AT ABBEYFIELD LEAR HOUSE
Abbeyfield Hoylake and West Kirby Society
resident Brenda celebrated her 100th
birthday in style with everyone at Lear
House. Brenda was born in Birkenhead and
has lived on the Wirral all her life. She has
been living at the Society’s West Kirby house
for five years.
Despite the current restrictions Brenda had
a wonderful day and enjoyed her birthday
celebrations. Her day started with presents
and cards including her special card from the
Queen congratulating her on her milestone
birthday. In the afternoon she was entertained
in the garden by Annette, Melody Awakenings
who is a regular at Lear House. Annette sang
a range of songs starting from the 1920s
when Brenda when born. Brenda also had the
opportunity to see her close family members
with social distancing observed at all times.
Her sense of fun and love of music was in
evidence throughout the afternoon!
Everyone else at Lear House also enjoyed the
celebrations watching from the lounge and
joining in with the singing and a glass of fizz to
toast the birthday girl!
Abbeyfield is very proud of their staff who
have worked endlessly, cheerfully and willingly
to keep residents safe and well during this
uncertain and stressful time. Well done
everyone!
