The 21st Wirral Bikeathon, supporting
Bloodwise
(formerly
Leukaemia
and
Lymphoma Research) took place on Sunday
16th June. More than 900 riders took part and
the total pledged was in excess of £36000 which
means that the Bikeathon has now exceeded
the target of £1 million which Bloodwise uses
to support research into blood cancers.
The Wirral Bikeathon committee said: "We
would like to thank everybody involved for
their contribution – all the riders of all ages who
have turned out in all weather conditions over
the years (fortunately this year was fine), their
sponsors and all the willing volunteers who have
contributed to raising this amazing sum.
"We can only say to everybody – thanks a million
for your support for Bloodwise and making such
a significant contribution to the fight against
blood cancers. We couldn’t have done it without
you!"
