LIP GLOSS
by Annabel Birtles
For me, as a 20 (nearly 21) year old girl growing up in
the pressure of the Kardashian and social media era and
surrounded by perfectly airbrushed women, it has been
a struggle not to compare myself to the warped reality
portrayed in the media.
Over the years I have learnt to accept my flaws and view social
media as a platform where people only show the most perfect
version of themselves and their life, when in reality, it’s not real
life and everyone suffers with their own insecurities.
This has catapulted the aesthetic industry and with so many
“quick fixes” available, the ability to alter your appearance has
become more and more appealing.
One of the most widespread trends is the phenomenon of
lip fillers and whilst a fuller looking lip can often be a sign of
youthfulness, the thought of having needles stuck in them and
injected with filler isn’t for everyone.
The idea to embrace your natural beauty is one I will always
promote; however, I understand the want to be the best version
of yourself in all aspects. So, this month I’ll be bringing you my
best lip pumping glosses so you can achieve the look without
facing the needles.
