FESTIVAL FUN AS
SUN BEAMS DOWN
ON LIVERPOOL
WATERFRONT
Liverpool welcomed the first Feis festival to the
city’s world heritage waterfront where visitors
enjoyed a packed programme of music across
three stages.
Forming part of the Liverpool 2018 events
programme which marks the tenth anniversary
of European Capital of Culture, the event
celebrated Liverpool’s unique Irish heritage.
Some of the biggest names in Irish music, both
contemporary and traditional, created a true
celebration of Irish culture and attracted visitors
from as far away as the USA. The line-up included
Van Morrison, The Chieftains, Imelda May, The
Hothouse Flowers and a range of other bands,
musicians and dancers who together created an
electric atmosphere on a day to remember. Plans
are already in place to create another Feis event
in summer next year.
